DRAMATalk: A Conversation with Comedian, Actor & Playwright Lewis Black
The Yale Dramatic Association presents DRAMATalk: A Conversation with Comedian, Actor & Playwright Lewis Black (Yale Drama School MFA ‘77), moderated by Adam Buchsbaum.
Before he became a comedy icon, Lewis Black was deeply rooted in theater. A graduate of UNC and the Yale School of Drama, Black was the longtime playwright-in-residence at New York’s West Bank Cafe, where he guided the development of over 1,000 new plays. He’s written more than 40 plays himself, with productions staged at major theaters across the country.
The craft he honed in theater and then stand-up earned him Grammy awards during a versatile career that includes the Daily Show’s “Back in Black”, Pixar’s Inside Out (as the voice of “Anger”), Broadway one man shows, multiple bestselling books, and HBO specials.
The conversation will explore the intersections of theater, comedy, and storytelling.
